If you are thinking about a walking holiday – or have booked one already – one of the biggest questions is: What to pack? Of course, it does depend on where you are walking and at what grade. If you are a keen walker you might already have most items, including waterproof jacket, baselayers, walking boots and rucksack. But if you are just starting out as a new-ish walker the chances are you are looking for a few items of new kit. One brand that has recently impressed with its lower prices but mid-range quality is Karrimor. For too long Karrimor, which was once a popular, high quality brand, had lost its way and could be recommended only for fair-weather, not-too-frequent walkers. Now the company appears to be back on track is with a good range of modern products that shout quality but at easier-on-the-pocket prices. If you want high-end choose the likes of North Face, Arc’teryx, Berghaus, Helly Hansen etc but you will pay a lot more for these. But if you want no-fuss good quality for lower prices try Karrimor.
