Why Walk It?
- An authentic and unique travel experience, the Peru tour includes a home stay with a local family in Lake Titicaca after your day of walking, ensuring that you get the most from your time in Peru. You’ll also have the chance to immserse yourself in local traditions at a community weaving workshop in Cusco, hiking through the forest to choose the plants used to dye the fibres. Watch the entire process from start to finish whilst meeting the locals and listening to some traditional Peruvian music.
- There’s a reason why visiting Machu Picchu is on the bucket list of many. Exploring these ancient ruins is like stepping back in time, imagining the daily life of the extraordinary Incas who created them. If you’re hiking the Inca Trail, you’ll get to enter Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate, the same way the ancient Incas did. If you’re taking the Vistadome train, you’ll have an unforgettable journey down the Urubamba gorge with panoramic windows and uninterrupted views.
- Lake Titicaca offers an insight into the life of the Uros (pre-Incan peoples) on their floating island. While Lima and Cusco also have a wide range of art galleries, museums and restaurants to really immerse yourself and learn about Peruvian culture. We can also arrange cooking classes in Cusco for those who want to treat their friends back home to some delicious Peruvian food!

Planning Your Trip
If you’re planning on hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, we recommend booking ASAP as there are a limited number of permits each year and these sell out months in advance. (You can read more about this here). This trip is available from March to December, with May to October being the most popular months (less rain and cooler nights). The warmest time is from November to March but this is also rainy season. As Cusco is located at 3400m above sea level, some people can suffer from altitude sickness. We recommend taking it easy at your hotel on day two of your trip and on days three and four you visit the Sacred Valley area, which has a lower altitude than Cusco.
